Prospect House, Wimbledon
Completed:
September 1999
Prospect House was a derelict 1820s property set in two acres of land. We undertook extensive refurbishment and added a large extension. As an English Heritage listed building, the original mouldings, cornice work and windows were sympathetically restored, returning them to their former charm. The character of the building was further complemented by a traditional approach to the interiors. The oak staircase we introduced to the main hall, plus a distressed Portland stone floor, was an outstanding feature of the project and the master suite was completed with a purpose-made hardwood dressing room with hand-carved doors and pilasters. Externally the project included extensive landscaping, which included a tennis court and large open-air swimming pool.
